ABOUT TAKE BACK FRIDAY

The business should leave room for you.

You probably didn’t start a creative business because you loved chasing feedback. Neither did I.

Take Back Friday brings together practical AI tools and experienced coaching to help creative founders make room for better work, healthier profit and a life beyond the business.

The idea behind Take Back Friday

In this introduction: Rob explains why founders need breathing room, how practical AI can reduce the work around the work, and why human judgement remains at the centre.

FROM ONE FOUNDER TO ANOTHER

Hello.
I’m Rob.

Rob ForshawFounder, Take Back Friday

My career has taken me from Saatchi & Saatchi to Wieden & Kennedy, where I led the Nike account in the 1990s, and on to building, growing and selling my own agency.

For more than a decade, I’ve worked with creative founders to help them grow their businesses and develop as leaders. I know how easily the work around the work can take over.

I created Take Back Friday to make that support available to more founders. A useful place to start, tools to put into practice and a conversation when you need one. You can begin with the free guide, work through the book or learn by watching me put the tools to work.

My aim is to preserve the creativity, judgement and human relationships that make your business valuable, while finding better ways to handle the work that keeps getting in their way.

MAKE ROOM FOR GROWTH

Your diary shouldn’t be your revenue ceiling.

Create capacity.
Then use it deliberately.

When every brief, approval and client wobble lands on your desk, the business can only move as fast as you can. Working another evening leaves the same problem waiting tomorrow.

Win back some time and you can put it into the things that made you good at this: spotting an opportunity, building a relationship, turning a decent idea into something a client will value.

That’s the growth model behind Take Back Friday. Reduce the repeat work. Help your team take ownership. Use the space to win the right clients, develop stronger offers and charge properly for the value you create.

Then protect the margin: clearer scope, fewer avoidable rounds and less time lost between people. More revenue has to leave something in the business.

Take back the space to do your best work. Give the business room to grow again.

FIVE THINGS WE BELIEVE

The Take Back
Friday manifesto.

Your ambition deserves more room.
So do you.

  1. Your best hours deserve better than admin.

Let AI help with the chasing, searching and first drafts. Keep your energy for the decisions and ideas that need you.

  2. Great work needs a little headspace.

Make room for the idea that lifts the brief, delights the client and gives them a reason to come back.

  3. Growth needs a place in your diary.

Protect time for the founder you want to meet, the client you could help more and the proposal worth getting right.

  4. More revenue should leave more profit.

Price the thinking. Be clear about scope. Catch the extra rounds before a great project becomes an expensive favour.

  5. The business should grow beyond your to do list.

Give your team the knowledge and confidence to move work forward. Every decision shouldn’t need a little bit of you.

SMALL CHANGES. REAL CREATIVE BUSINESS LIFE.

Make it work for you.

  1. Find what keeps coming back to you.

The same client question. Another approval. Start with what keeps stealing your attention.

  2. Put AI to work.

Give it the context. Try a useful first draft. Bring your own taste and judgement.

  3. Keep what helps.

Notice what saves time. Make it a habit. Give someone else the confidence to take it on.
